I've had a look at other threads in the forum, but i am still unclear on what to selection when backing up an exchange server, below is my setup and points.

Remote media server backing up an exchange 2000 server with the following drives:

(WIN 2000 joining domain not DC)
C: (c:\exchange, transaction logs)
(c:\WINNT, etc)

(Only exchange installation on D:)
D: (d:\exchange)

Now can I exclude (c:\exchange) with transaction logs and the whole of D: from the selections, has they should be backed up under the Information Store etc, selection, right.

If not what in the d:\exchange dir should I not select.

Cheers

Richard

To add, just done some testing and with everything on drive D selected I get to following:

I can just remove these from the selection I know:
**************************************************

Unable to open the item \exchange\MDBDATA\priv1.edb - skipped.
Unable to open the item \exchange\MDBDATA\priv1.stm - skipped.
Unable to open the item \exchange\MDBDATA\pub1.edb - skipped.
Unable to open the item \exchange\MDBDATA\pub1.stm - skipped.
Unable to open the item \exchange\MDBDATA\tmp.edb - skipped.

Can I remove these from the selection or from my previous question can I just not select drive D:\.
