Exchange 2000 Slow response when sending email???

Exchange2000, Win2000, Outlook 2000. We upgraded from exchange 5.5 to exchange2000 after doing this all our windows boxes that were running outlook 2000 experienced a very noticible lag time when sending messages. ie. you composed a message and then clicked the send button. It takes a good 3-8 seconds where before it was instant. On my machine and 2 others i reinstalled outlook2000 and it fixed the problem. I am wondering if anyone is familiar with this enough to know a way to fix it without uninstalling and installing outlook 15 times. We only have 25 users. We do have a lot of emails but shouldn't be too big to cause a lag. Thanks
