Hi everyone,
My exchange server crashed and now the services will not start, so i am stuck and don't really know what to do. Can i install exchange on another server then move mail boxes over, but i don't think i can, don't the services have to be running on the orignal server in order to do this?? Could i do a system restore to put the server back into original status, if so how??

Exchange 2000 is installed on a windows 2003 server and it is the PDC. Also has every ones home areas on it.

Still learning and understanding about this sort of stuff, so any help would be very much appreciated.

Regards
James.

Sorry the exchange server is 2003, i will repost on the exchange 2003 menu.

James.

Did you try reinstalling the Exchange softeware with the /disasterrecovery switch? what does the event log says? go to to get the explanation on your events. good luck.

Its up and running now, my boss called some 1 in over the weekend, but doesn't know exactly what he done, he tried stuff that i tried already and done a system restore, then rebooted and all was ok, wanted to be there so i could learn, but was not told. Thanks for all the help given!

Regards
James.
