I'm using Backup Exec V9 and I have a question when I do a restore of Infomation Store for Exchange 2000.

I'm not fully understanding restore job Properties for Exchange. The area in question is "No loss restore (do not
delete existing transaction logs)option.

I'm testing this in a lab setting and when I delete a user's mailbox then purge that data out of Infomation Store. Then I go and do ther restore with above option check the mailbox never comes back but if I UN-check that option the mailbox will be restored.

Can someone explain why this might be happening.

Thanks in advance,

Mark

I must admit that I'm just guessing, but there is a difference between "No loss" and "no-loss".

The first means that the option for "loss restore" will not be enabled. The second option means that the restore strategy is to get back to a "no-loss" situation.

Quite confusing. But then again, clarity of wording is not one of Veritas' strong points...

Hope this helps!
