Exchange 2000 not receiving external email

Help!
We have a Exchange 2000 server that is not getting email from the outside. The users can send and receive internally with no problem. They can send , no problem. But when you try to send them an email,nothing. I telneted the server and got the correct responses. This is a new installation. We pinged the server and our DNS resolves it to the correct address. We chaked the Firewall and the nat is correct, any ideas?
