We seem to have an issue with a couple of people trying to send us email and what it seems like it might have something to do with timing out trying to connect to our primary smtp server. They get a message "15:52:48 [SSND] 1: Timeout while waiting for response to HELO" and then says it connects to our isp's smtp name. Someone else had told us in the past that we were failing to our secondardy smtp server(our isp) so it might be more than one person.
We are running exchange 2000 sp3 and have a watchguard firebox II firewall. Could it just be too much traffic? I have done all the tests and monitor it a lot so I know we're not a relay and don't really get too much activity and for the most part, everything come through fine. IS there any timeout settings in exchange? Thanks, Joe
