I'm using Arcserve 2000/7.0 SP4 for backups. I use a single job in a GFS rotation to backup all servers since this is the most efficent use of the tape library.
The GFS rotation runs incremental backups Mon-Thr and fulls on Friday.
An Exchange 2000 server was added to the network, and needs to be backed up.
When adding the Exchange 2000 database and bricklevel backups to the single GFS rotation job:
-bricklevel backups run Mon-Thr and on Friday
-database backups run only on Friday fulls
In Arcserve, if you right click on the database or brick level backups, it gives you a menu with options for full, incremental, etc. Both the db and bricklevels are set to the default of full-normal. I am wondering if this setting for the db is conflicting with the GFS, since GFS only does incremental Mon-Thr. But the bricklevel is still fine.
Any ideas on how to get the incremental db backups working in the GFS rotation?
TIA
