Exchange 2000 Event Service -Not starting

The Exchange 2000 Event service refuses to start .

These are the details given as per the Event viewer :

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeES
Event Category: General
Event ID: 5
Date: 3/5/2003
Time: 3:41:34 PM
User: N/A
Computer: GOLIATH
Description:
An unexpected MAPI error occurred. Error returned was [0x80004005].

I am using a localSystemAccount to start the event viewer, as per microsoft .

I tried this Solution that Microsoft mentions for the problem

but I dont see any EventConfig_servername foler in the System Folders

The Exchange 2000 server is updated with sp3.

please HELP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Error: 0x80004005 = &quot;Unspecified error&quot; - This error may occur if you starting the Exchange Event service, but you haven't configured the Messages and Status in the Exchange System Manager. You must configure it an restart the Exchange Event service.

How can i configure the above mentioned Messages and Status from the Exchange System Manager. Any Links where i can get help on configuring the above.
