Exchange 2000 Calendar freezes through Firewall

Please can anyone help with the folowing problem:-

We have all our client workstations access a 2000 exchange server through a firewall, when a user tries to access another users calendar to schedule an appointment outlook freezes altogether. Is this a firewall problem ?, is there a further port I should open ?

By the time you open all the ports required for a MAPI connection through a firewall, you might as well not have a firewall. In addition, many ISPs block 135.

Your choices are:

Use ISA server as your firewall and publish Exchange. ISA is the only firewall with a secure proxy for outlook maip connections to exchange.

Migrate to Exchange 2003/WIndows 2003 and Outlook 11. Use RPC over HTTP and it only requires port 80.
