If i create new users under Users in Server management with a mailbox the mailbox appear under the Default storage, but if i create a user with mailbox through AD Users and Groups it does not show the mailbox in the Default storage.
What is the prefered method to create users in new OU's with mailboxes.

On SBS, you can ONLY create new user OU's within the default container of MyBusiness\Users\. Do not create them elsewhere or you'll break the wizards.

You'll note, that once you create another OU in that container (in addition to the default SBSUSERS OU) an additional screen that allows you to select which OU to place the user will appear when you run the Add User Wizard without applying a Template, or when running the Add a Template wizard.

Prefered methods in SBS are ALWAYS to use the wizards provided in the TOP half of the management console (or to make it even more precise, by using ONLY the links from the top Home Page of the Server Management Console.

Ok, but why is the users that i created under MyBusiness\Users\new OU in AD users and Computers not showing the relevant mailbox in Exchange mailbox store. Only if i use the User wizard in the top half it works fine.

Well, first, you should understand that mailboxes are just ONE reason to not create users directly in AD... remember SBS is an INTEGRATED, PRE-CONFIGURED product... the SBS Add User Wizard performs the following tasks (as noted on the first screen of the wizard):

Creates a user account
Creates a mailbox for the user
Creates a home folder for the user
Adds the user to security groups
Adds the user to distribution groups
Configures SharePoint access
Configures a disk quota for the user
Optionally sets up a client computer for the user

Additionally... the wizard will generate TWO welcome emails for the user which provide important information about the SBS environment.

When you add a user directly in AD, this is what THAT wizard will do:

Creates a user account
Creates a mailbox for the user

Because the AD method does not generate the welcome emails, the mailbox won't show up in the Mail Store until that user account logs on for the first time.

Hopefully that helps you to understand why you don't see the mailbox right away... and even moreso why you should never create a user that way anyhow.

Short answer: mailboxes created through the ADUC exist virtually but aren't REALLY created until the first logon/mail delivery.

Creating users on SBS through the ADUC (or not using the wizards in general) is kind of like speeding. You can do it, it makes you feel powerful, and it may seem faster, but you aren't observing the laws of the land and you shouldn't be surprised if something unpleasant happens. I don't like it when people say YOU CAN'T, because you CAN. But you just have to understand what it is you are giving up: reliable and consistent behavior of your environment.

I don't ALWAYS use SBS wizards in every possible situation, but I've come to understand very well what I'm doing when I'm not.
