All,

I have nearly finished my migration from Exchange 5.5 to 2003 and just wanted to confirm a couple of things before i go ahead?

I currently have the following place:

Exchange 5.5 (NT4 - BDC [mydomain.co.uk]) Public Folders (replicated)

Exchange 2003 (W2K Adv Srv - Member [mydomain.co.uk]) Mailboxes & Public Folders (replicated)

DC01 (mixed mode - mydomain.co.uk)

DC02 (Navite mode - groups.mydomain.co.uk) - Holds DLs for public folders

All mailboxes have now been moved from my Exchagne 5.5 server to my new Exchage 2003 server, Public folders are replication via an ADC conector. Also my distribution lists are replicated to my groups.mydomain.co.uk domain to I my users can still see public folders.

What I am planning to do to finish my migration is todo the following?

1) Uninstall Exchage 5.5

2) Delete active directory connection agreements with ADC connector

3) Delete Site Replication Services within Exchange 2003

4) Switch to Native Mode (Exchange 2003)

5) Switch off my old Exchange 5.5 server which is the last NT4 BDC in our domain

6) Switch to Native mode on AD

7) Move Distributions Lists back from groups.mydomain.co.uk to mydomain.co.uk

8) run DCpromo on groups.mydomain.co.uk and remove my domain.

What my queiry is?, is when i uninstall Exchange 5.5, will any of my Public folders disappear when they try and syncornise with exchange 5.5?

Any help would be great, or any of tips of how I should finish my migration?

Many Thanks

James

I have completed this, if it helps anyone I did the following:

1) Launch the Active Directory Connector Management snap-in to delete
any recipient Connection Agreements:

Note: Do not attempt to delete any configuration Connection Agreements that
begin with Config_CA in the management console.

2) Start the Exchange Server 5.5 Administrator program. And connect to
Your Exchange 2003 Server

3) In the Exchange Server 5.5 Administrator program, click to expand
the local site name, click to expand Configuration, click Directory
Replication Connectors, and then delete any Directory Replication Connectors
that exist.

NOTE: Do not delete the ADNAutoDRC connector listed under Directory
Replication Connectors.

4) Stop all Exchange services on the Exchange Server 5.5 and uninstall
software

5) Within the Exchange Serve 5.5 Administrator, navigate to the
Configuration container, click Servers, and then delete your Exchange 5.5
server from the Servers container.

Allow 15min + for replication

6) Start Exchange System Manager.

7) Ensure that no Exchange Server 5.5 computers are displayed in any
administrative group in Exchange System Manager

8) Navigate to the Tools container, click the Site Replication Services
container, right-click each SRS, and then click Delete. When you do so, the
SRS and corresponding Config_CA for that SRS are deleted.

9) Uninstall the Active Directory Connector (ADC) service.

After you complete these steps, you can convert the Exchange Server computer
organization to Native mode

1) Start Exchange System Manger; click Start, point to Programs, point to
Microsoft Exchange, and then click System Manager.

2) Right-click the organization, and then click Properties.

3) Click the General tab, and then click Change Mode under Change Operations
Mode. Click Yes if you are sure that you want to permanently switch the
organization's mode to native mode.

Hope this helps

James
