Hello all,
Installing Exch 2K3 Enterprise onto a Win2k3 SP1 box. Exchange 2000 org (win2k domain).
Ran the Forestprep then domainprep. Ran setup and it installed. Server is HLCMAIL below BUT...

Noticed store was not mounted. When I tried to mount the store I get the following error.

Internal processing error ID: c1041724 from ESM. Error message suggests restarting ESM or IS service or both. Rebooted machine- did not help.

In Event viewer:
Event 9546 MsExchangeIS (failed to create the Event Registration Mailbox for Database First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (HLCMAIL). Error - 0xbf69.
Then got Event 9519 MSExchangeIS (Error 0x80004005 starting database "First Storage Group\Mailbox Store (HLCMAIL)" on the Microsoft Exchange Information Store.

Found no private store...
That is when I searched for the edb files and could not find the store files at all. The only stm or edb files I found was for the Public store. Tried to create a new store Rightclick on First Storage group in ESM and pick new mailbox store and that failed also.

Tried so far- reran domainprep.

Any ideas?? Strange!!

Thanks Dave

Thanks Pat-
There is plenty of room on all the disks. I checked the permissions on the mdbdata folders but I will look at them again to make sure I am not seeing what I want to see.

Still puzzled why there are no *.edb or .stm files created. I can even try to move the databases and it will say they were moved but since nothing is there in the first place...nothing happens and no edb files in the new directory of course.

Thanks for the info (and the edb explanation!!). I will work through them. Most seem to mention Exch 2000 but there is probably something in one of them!!

My problem turned out to be a Active Directory/DNS issue. We have a single label domain and all the SRV records were not in the DNS. Fixed that problem and the store was created/mounted without problem. Now to post another message on the next problem!!
