Hi,

We have a number of people using the same master templates that were set up in Quark originally & brought into InDesign. We have multiple guides appearing on these templates and would like to know if anyone knows the answer to this problem - is it due to being brought in from Quark or ... some other problem?

TIA,
SLL

Are the guides visible in Quark as well?

Quark to InDesign conversion is a conversion. These are two separate programs. It would be no surprise that the conversion is not perfect.

You might try going to the view menu and selecting Hide Frame edges and Hide Guides and see what happens. If the multiple guides disappear, try Save As Indesign Template. Open that and see how it looks. If necessary, slect Show Guides from View.

Also go to the Document Setup (File menu) and the whole Layout menu to make sure the setting are the same as the old Quark docs. ID should import the old Quark guides, but if you select Create Guides on the Layout menu, you'll get more guides.
