Exception OE has occurred 1

I have uninstalled a SCSI Yamaha CD writer and replaced it with an IDE writer. Since doing this i now get thr following message:

exception has ocurred at 0028:3E500C1 in VXD This was called from 0028:C1828958 in VXD SCSI 1 HLP(03) + 0000508

Can anyone help PLEASE ?????

Do you still have a SCSI card in the machine, or did it use a SCSI driver through the parallel port. Are there any drivers still loaded for that. If you were using DirectCD from Adaptec is it still loading and has it been configured for the new drive.
