exception 0xC0000005

when opening a drawing in a new session of acad 2000 i sometimes get an error message "error: exception occurred:
0xC0000005 (Access Violation). when this happens i also get a new blank drawing opened in front of the original one.
sometimes also i've found that my keyboard aliases don't work.

has anyone had any experience with this?

You may want to reload AutoCAD. That usually fixes it for us.

That depends (great answer huh). If you have a lot of third party programs and customized routines, then to get back to where you were may take some forethought. If you left AutoCAD pretty much as is, you can export your current profile and save any new files that you may have created (i.e. mnu's, shx's pc3, ctb, stb, pmp files and put them back into the same folders later). Reimport your profile and you should (operative word) good to go.
