Over time as I develop my VBA module on my computer, the excel file takes longer and longer to open and close. It saves just fine, it executes just fine. But when I open the excel file which contains VBA code, it takes a while to open. This happens only on my machine. I can copy the excel file to other computers and it works with no issues.

This is my second bout with this problem. The first time, it would take up to 60 minutes to open or close the file! I have tried reloading Excel, Reloading Office - both from scratch. Now I am seeing this problem again. Anyone have any thoughts?? I am desperate!!

With out knowing the full nature of teh workbook, it is hard to say. Does the workbook conatin references to files on the network or some remote computer ?

There are references to other workbooks, but they are opened when needed within the VBA code. I had heard that there may be some DLL's that need to be replaced to fix this problem, but I have not been able to find any reference to this on the MSN site.

A shot in the dark, but try clicking Run on the Start menu
and yype the path to Excel.exe, folowed by /regserver, eg.
Code:
  "C:\Program Files\Microsoft _
      Office\Office\Excel.exe" /regserver
That should clear up any problems you might have with a corrupted registry entry.

Also try saving the file on a machine on which it loads normally, and port that copy to your PC to see if teh problem persists.
