Hi,
I have a spreadsheet that has reference to an XLA. Both the spreadsheet and the XLA are on a network share. The XLA contains functionality to connect to a remote web service - I didn't actually set this up but can see that it was created using the Web Services Reference Toolkit 2.0.
My question is, if somebody opens that spreadsheet on their workstation and accesses the web service, is the web service being called from the workstation or from the network share? I'm having some tentative thoughts around security here - for example, if I had to specify (for permissioning internal to where I work) what host(s) needed access to the server where the web service was running, would I refer to the network share or the workstation of the user?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
