Excel - VBA - Return Value

[DummyForAccess]

I'm having difficulty doing something pretty simple. I have limited VB experience. I'm trying to return a value that is in the sheet to load into a variable. In this case, the value exists in cell X1. How do I get to set a variable = to value that is in cell X1? (what I'm doing is finding the "end" of my sheet, and want to use that for stuff like filling down, etc...) Help!!
