I have a ladies excel that will start typing random nonsense into a cell by itself. The computer has no virus' of anykind, the network is firewalled, all files are held on the server, scanned on the server and the local machine so it cant be any outside source causing this but the best way to explain it is to show a pic

Yesterday the jibberish appeared as a song and today it appears as some commercial ad or something. Its strange.

Looks like XP, from your screen shot, though you don't specify...
...your problem is likely that Microsoft's Speech Recognition System is enabled and the machine is picking up parts, pieces of whatever it "hears."

To turn off speech recognition, follow these steps:
Open the Regional and Language Options tool in Control Panel. On the Languages tab, click Details under Text services and input languages.Under Installed services, click Speech Recognition, and then click Remove. Click OK to apply all the changes. You may need to restart your computer.
On the Languages tab, click Details under Text services and input languages.Under Installed services, click Speech Recognition, and then click Remove. Click OK to apply all the changes. You may need to restart your computer.
Under Installed services, click Speech Recognition, and then click Remove. Click OK to apply all the changes. You may need to restart your computer.

Hey, thanks. That would make sense- because she has a radio playing in the office and thats where it picked the song up from yesterday. Thats funny.

Is this a standard feature in XP and how do I turn it on?
