Some spreadsheets seem to flow left to right, but some flow top to bottom. If I set the "Move selection after Enter" direction to "Right", it is "Right" for all spreadsheets.
Is there a way to keep the setting unique to each spreadsheet?

Thanks...

No, this is an application setting.

I use ENTER to go then the next row and TAB to go to the next column.

Also, if you use Data > Create List... for tables in your sheets, the TAB will take you to the end of each row in your table, and THEN to the NEXT ROW.

That sounds like a really useful tool, Skip! Any idea how to do that in Excel 2007? I couldn't seem to find the option under the Data tab.

Ah, okay, so it's creating a table in 2007. Cool. I was already liking the built-in sorting, and check-book-style theming of rows and the column headers. Now something else I didn't realize - the TAB key usage. Thanks!

kjv1611,

It's under Insert tab, Table icon

Alright, I knew I'd eventually find the same thing via just clicking in the ribbon, so long as I kept hunting.

To get the same effect with the clicker:
1. Insert Tab
2. Table

So, 2 clicks, and yer done... other than specifying the range, but that's 2 clicks vs 3 keystrokes - so depends upon whether the mouse or keyboard is closer at moment, I suppose.

just as a little aside to this issue...
i once built a spreadsheet where i wanted to be able to move left to right on hitting the enter key for one particular worksheet (data entry type stuff)

the solution was changing the direction programatically from the worksheet activate event then reset it in the worksheet deactivate event.

did the job for me!!
