A few days ago I started to get a startup error message from Excel. It came from nowhere. I can't think of anything that might have started it, and now it shows up every time I start Excel. (I'm using Office 97).

The message says:
',MS&Access Form...,,,' could not be found. check spelling of file name and verify that the file location is correct.

I have no idea what this file is. Looks like some sort of screw up between Access and Excel. Can anybody suggest how to get rid of this message?

Thanks

Roy

Hi Roy,

I'm not certain this will be the right solution to your problem, but it's worth checking out. Also, for other Excel users, be aware of this "potential problem".

I seem to recall that Excel will automatically load (or attempt to load) files which are located in the "Alternate Startup File Location" - which is under "Tools - Options - General".

If you happen to have had a folder specified under "Alternate Startup File Location", and that folder and/or files are now modified or deleted, this potentially could cause problems.

Like I said, it possibly isn't your solution, but I thought it was worth mentioning, just in case.
