i want to copy formulas from one workbook to the other w/o the formulas linking to the old workbook.

example:
Workbook1
=gl*5

When i copy the formula over to workbook2 it says
Workbook2
=[workbook1]!gl*5

i want it to copy over like this
=gl*5

One solution would be to copy what you want then do a find and replace on the workbook name - replace "[workbook1]!" with ""
;-)

If a man says something and there are no women there to hear him, is he still wrong? [ponder]
The faqs ma'am, just the faqs. Get the best from these forums : faq222-2244

so you can do a find replace for functions as you would for visible text. hmmm... i'll try it.

Just set the option to look in Formulas rather than values

Or you could Copy and then Paste Special as Formulas ?
