We've been having an issue with a shared workbook where users will be entering data & saving the changes. Every once in awhile, the user will get an error message saying that the file is no longer shared and they are prompted to save a backup version. This is frustrating as the user has to close out of the file, reopen the shared file and re-enter the changes they have made (fortunately they have been saving often...)

Any clue as to what could be causing this to happen? Windows XP Connectivity issues?? This is on a shared network drive... And it's Excel 2002 SP3.

Thanks!

I was just given the exact wording of the error. Any clue of how to keep this from happening?

Code:
Your changes could not be saved to 'xxxxx.xls' because of a sharing violation. Excel has created a temporary file with your changes preserved, called 'C950E100'. You can save the temporary file as a new name or lose your changes and all future changes..

I put this in a code format so it stands out... :)

Thanks!
Carie
