Hi, in previous versions of Excel, I would bring in a dbf file, make changes and the resave as a dbf file. Now that I have Office 2007, the option to save as a dbf is no longer there. When I hit save, the option to save in the original format isn't there, and under save as dbf is no longer in the list of possible file format. Does anybody know how I can save changes back to a dbf file?
Thank you,
Michael Kohler

A quick google confirms that Microsoft removed that option from 2007.

Can you save as CSV and import back? Or maybe use Access to convert? (I'm not sure if the feature has been removed from Access as well)

What are you using to read the dbf file?
Can you save the file as an older version of xls and
use the xbase software to
Append from filename.xls type xls?

Hi, its the dbf file from an Arc GIS shapefile. I used Excel to adjust column wdiths or cell types. I would then save it as the dbf file and it would still work fine in Arc GIS.
