i have taken on a large excel document which has been compiled by somebdy else and have been asked to build an access database from it.
however...

the rows and columns are the wrong way round for accurately displaying the data in access.

is ther any way to swap the data in the colums with the rows?

kind regards
mike

There is a Transpose option in the Paste Special dialog, but be aware that there is an absolute limit of 256 columns. So if you have more than 256 rows it will take a bit of work.

Hi Mike,

Providing you have less than 256 rows you can use the TRANSPOSE worksheet function. If you have more than that, of course, they won't fit on the worksheet (nor on an Access table, I suspect).

Enjoy,
Tony
