Let me see if I can explain this in english :)

I have 6 columns that have 8 5 rows with "a choise to be made" when the user selects choice 2 I want only the digit to be shown, after the choice is made.

Example.

Choice
Improve Productivity by 25% - 5
" " 20% - 4
and so on down to 1.

I want the end user to see the entire line, but once they have made a choice we would only see the 5.

I am thinking of using the right function, but I am not sure if it would need to be in a macro, or if it can be written right in the cell where the cells will be drop down choices.

Any help is greatly apprecicated

Thank you
Maureen

Perhaps I have misunderstood. Will Validation list work for you?

On another sheet, list the options, then give that list a name "Options" (dynamic if it will change in length over time - see below). Then select your cell, go to Data > Validation,

in the dropdown list, choose "List", then, in the source reference, type

=Options

Click Okay.

Dynamic named range: (Insert > Name > Define: Give it name Options, then in the "Refers to" box put this:

=OFFSET(Work!$A$3,0,0,COUNTA(Work!$A:$A),1)

Software: XL2002 on Win2K
Humanware: Older than dirt
