Excel rendering issue, e is displayed at 1900

I'm using RS2005 that displays my reports correctly in IE, but when I export to excel the Month column in any of my reports replaces the 'e' with 1900. This only happens in this column. For example in excel instead of showing June it shows Jun1900.

I tried checking the Microsoft Knowledge Base, but I got an error that is unavailable at this time.

Any help would be appreciated.
