Hi All,
I have a coworker who had an Excel sheet open. She is new to Excel and didn't know you are not supposed to click on the headers. She inadvertantly sorted the column. Then saved and exited. So this doesn't happen again, is there a way to set Excel up so that the record integrity is maintained?
Thanks,
Winfred Thanks,

A really good idea is to set up an index column with continuous numbering; 1,2,3 etc. When you want the worksheet back the way it was, you just need to sort it by the index column.

Winfred,

You can write some procedures (VBA) triggered by buttons, for instance, to insure that only certain things can happen to your sheet (making it idiot-proof). When a procedure begins, it up-protects the sheet and when it's done, it protects the sheet.
