Using Excel 2007 and a fairly straightforward query which pulls data from ODBC. I have edited the query to add a new field but regardless of where I put it, I don't get a new column on the worksheet with the new values. If I use the query editor, it does show data but this is an already heavily formatted spreadsheet and I need to use the existing format. Is there any way to control column contents - i.e. tell Excel to show a field from the query?

Hi,

You are using an ODBC driver to query data from some database (Oracle, Access, Excel, text file or something else) and you have added a column to your query and it appears that that data has not been included in your QueryTable resultset.

Did you check to the extreme right hand side of the table?

Yes - pulling from Pervasive SQL. By extreme right hand side of the table, I assume you are not talking about the spreadsheet but the table itself. No column, no column heading, no values. Thanks for your quick response!

How are you executing the query in Excel?

I am using Connections, Property, Definition to edit my SQL query and saving. Then I use Refresh.

I've never used that method.

In the resultset, right-click and select Table > Edit query and verify that the QBE grid reflects your intended fields and criteria. Then File > Return data to Excel.

Hi:
It must be something with that specific field because when I added another field, it worked perfectly. It may be that the field I was grabbing was a BLOB and MSQUERY didn't like it.
Using File>Return date to Excel gives me all kinds of formatting that I can't use. I think I'm all set now.
Thanks again!

Code:
Using File>Return date to Excel gives me all kinds of formatting that I can't use

Could you explain what that means.
