I have inherited several Excel Queries. They query a ODBC database and do a background query when Excel is opened.

I want to change this so that the queries can be run at night, or some other off time. The queies can result in 40-50 thousand records, and the folks that need to use them, don't want to wait to have the Excel files updated.

Any ideas on how to set this up?

Thanks

Or you can set the query to refresh on open....

and use the windows scheduler to open the file.

WOW, thanks for all the good tips.
I am planning on working on the project this week. I did not even think of the windows scheduler method.
I think I will try that one first, and see how it works.
I am also glad to know about the OnTime syntax, we can use it as we develop more of this ODBC ports.
