I apologize for cross posting this question.
Excel is not my area of expertise. I am much more comfortable using Visual Basic and Access, but I have a question which does involve Excel and I need an explanation as to whether this can or cannot be done.
This is the background information. I have a client in the products promotion industry. He is an accomplished amateur user of Excel. He wants to know if it is possible to track 4 things. It needs to track product (by item number), customer (by location), in and out of inventory and date of each transaction. Currently, his spreadsheet tracks the daily in and out of items by product and date.
I am trying to tell him that he needs to consider a database system to track all four items, but I don’t want to suggest to him what he might not need.
Can you please tell me if this is possible using one spreadsheet, and if so, are there any available examples he can use to see that it can be done.
If, as I suspect, he can’t do it as he wants, can you tell me why it cannot be done from an Excel point of view.
Thank you for your assistance.
