Hi Guys,

I already finish with a Excel Spreadsheet that works with a main tab sheet that contains some graphics, of course the information of these graphics are in other tabs... what I see now is that other people (users) are moving the information of my tabs and also moving the graphic on the main sheet.

What do you recommend me to protect all my sheets (Not all because some cells are for them to use it) and maybe hide some tabs?

Thanks a lot

MR

Yes, For example... Everything as tips from security that can help me to create a Good protected Excel SpreadSheet from the users!

When you protect sheets using menu command Tools / Protection ( as recommended by mintjulep ), Excel protects those cells that are formatted as Protected ( this is the default format, so by default all cells in a protected sheet are protected ).

To allow the users to enter data into some cells, simply format those cells ( menu command Format/cells, and click on the Protection tab ) with Protection as unlocked ( untick the Locked checkbox ), before protecting the sheet.

To really hide sheets use the VBE to set the sheets visibility to xlVeryHidden, and then put a password on the project so that the users can't use the VBE to unhide sheets.

Cheers, Glenn.

But in doing the Mintjulep approach, remember that there's very little you can do to stop your users from merely copying everything, pasting to a fresh workbook, and then saving it in the original name. If they routinely change things, it might be worth addressing the underlying reason why they want things done differently rather than trying to stop them. Good luck, Excel security is a thorny issue.
