Excel process not closing

I have a user that whenever she exists out of excel, it does not end the process excel.exe. When she goes to shutdown her PC, it hangs with the end now option because of excel. Is there a way to make sure it is ended without going through task manager everytime. I have considered running a batch script at shut down to end it, but hoped there was a better solution.

I have tried running a repair and a reinstall of office and still no solution in site.

Check for macros or add-ins installed on her PC. If they are present, you can determine which one is causing errors by enabling the add-ins one-by-one. You can disable macros to see if that's the issue. If it is, I would check on the VBA Visual Basic for Applications (Microsoft) Forum to determine which is causing the issue.
