I have seen several posts on the Microsoft Excel newsgroup on this issue but no one seems to ever provide an answer. Now I have client with this issue and I hope someone can help.

Printing from Excel 97 to a network printer from NT 4.0 in Landscape mode shows up as Portrait. Print Preview shows the sheet in portrait despite changing it in the printer options and page setup in Excel. Thought it was just the printer driver (hp 4 plus) but went over to another machine (same OS, same network printer and same application) and it shows up correctly.

If I map to another network printer that is a different type of printer (hp 5 si vs hp 4 plus) it does show up correctly. Remove network printer and reinstalled as well but that made no difference.

Suggestions?

I figured out my own problem. I am posting this in case anyone ever runs across this issue again. It's not an Excel issue but from what I am guessing a corrupted print driver. However since it was a network printer I had no idea how to get the drivers removed.

Found a Technet article which helped identified the drivers and from there I figured out who to manually remove them so they can reinstall themselves by remapping to the printer.

The orientation now works like it supposed to work.
