Hi,
I have e-mailed an Excel spreadsheet containing a number of formulas internally to a Windows 95 machine. The user can open the spreadsheet but when he tries to look at it in print preview, he receives the "This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down" message. He can preview other, smaller files. The file in question was created in Office 2000, the user is opening it in Office 97. I wonder if anyone would know why this is happening. Thanks in advance!
Linda

If the pc has the Norton Antivirus protection on, sometimes you get in trouble with Excel (and Word) middle-size files.
Try to fix the problem as following:
Click on START and select RUN, then write

regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\norton antivirus\officeav.dll"

If the directory "c:\program files" doesn't exist in your pc, maybe you have a not-english Windows version and you have to substitute the string with the correct name of the directory.

Caution: this command will disable the virus scanning when you open the file with Office Applications, but other Antivirus option will be active (e-mail check still works).
