Hi everyone, I'm using vb 6 and XP professional.

I'm attempting to build an application that mimics some of the drawing capabilities of excel and powerpoint. The connectors feature in Excel (or Powerpoint) is what I'm specifically trying to mimic. My app is similar to a flow charting application.

The "connectors toolbar" is found by selecting Auto Shapes from the drawing toolbar and it gives user the ability to "connect" two rectangles, for example.

Can an API be accessed to accomplish this? If anyone has any experience and can point me in the right direction, it would be very much appreciated.

Thank you very much.

AFAIK the 'connectors' feature is a Ppoint/Excel internal, so will not be redistributable.

You can use it on a machine with Excel on by referring to the Excel object library in your project. I find that the best way to find how to use tricky objects (like connectors) is to record a macro in Excel and then dissect the code produced.

Thank you both for replying. It's going to take me some time to get to the bottom of this one.

Thanks again.
