Cheers

Depending on what version of the operating system and Excel you are using, Excel has different start up locations. Here's a link specific to XL2K, which is for all intensive purposes the same for XLXP. For XL97, it's all the same minus out the User name one. Check to see if you have any Excel files in any of the 2/3 start up locations that's specific to your OS and XL versions.

Please note, the 2 files you may see in one of the start up locations are:

Personal.xls (This workbook is hidden within Excel by default)

I forget the name of the other, but it doesn't have an Excel extension. However, this other file is created automatically, if you have an Excel file in that location (At least for XL97 with it's General XLStart folder).

Bear in mind that normally speaking, just by having the files in there, that shouldn't cause an issue like this. The only time I have seen this type of an issue is when a form is brought up from a workbook that was openned from one of the XLStart folders.

If you don't find anything along these lines, you may want to think about completely uninstall Office, delete the Microsoft Office Folder (there may be 1 or 2 process files that won't delete, which then you will need to end task on those processes, which can only be done from Windows 2000 and above, then delete them).

Once Microsoft Office has been fully uninstalled, reboot the system, then reinstall MS Office. Be sure to go through the Customization as there are things such as VBA help files that aren't included in the typical installation of MS Office.
