Excel - open excel.htm file in edit mode

I have an Excel.html file which is linked to a database, so anytime I want to refresh the data in the file, I have to right-click the file and select edit, or else it will open in a browser (since it is an html file), I am looking for some way to automate this using a macro, but I cannot seem to find anything that opens an excel file or html/excel file in edit mode?

Any suggestions???
