Hi, I have been writing vba within excel and now whenever I open it is just hangs....is there anyway of rectifying this?

THanks

Holding down the Shift key when opening might help, I'm not sure.

What should work is setting the Excel Security level to "medium" and then select the "Disable Macros" option.

Try looping through your code then or use the debugger.

You must have one of two things in your Personal Macro workbook, or either with a particular workbook:

1. A whole lot of code, or some really slow code in the _Open method of the workbook(s)

or (and this is my guess, at least in part)

2. Too many "add-ins" loading with Excel. I know that, from experience, if you start loading all sorts of add-ins with Excel, it can start running quite slow, and if your machine is slow enough, it could even freeze up Excel!

I hope that helps at least an itty-bitty bit! [wink]
