Hello,

I want to assign a particular value to a cell based on a value in an adjacent cell. There are 33 different catagories so it is too much to do as IF statements in one cell.

I basically want to know if it is possible to make my own function that I could make from 33 nested IF statements or (?elsif?) (Can I use this many IF's in VBA?).

I have not made Excel functions before so if you could point me toward an idiots guide to functions I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for any help or links

SO,

Create a table of your values and do a lookup.

Thanks for your help but I have continued down the Function route as I need to keep repeating the operation on several different workbooks. I have posted another follow on problem with regards to my VBA code where I have tried to use elseif statements.

Cheers,
