I have a ~25 sheet workbook, each of which consists of a table and two graphs.

There is a redundant link in there somewhere. I have tried a search on the name of the linked file but it returns nothing.

Can someone please suggest if there is a quick way find where this linked cell/object is?

use the FIND function (CTRL+F)

Set to search
WITHIN: workbook
Don't tick "Match Entire Cell"
LOOK IN: Formulas

enter

*.xls*

in the "Find What" box

Rgds, Geoff

Well, he's kind of had it in for DPlank ever since he accidentally ran over his dog. Actually, replace "accidentally" with "repeatedly," and replace "dog" with "son."

Please read FAQ222-2244 before you ask a question

If Geoff's method doesn't work, then download Bill Manville's free Excel Add-in, called FINDLINK, which will find links in unusual places for you. Look here:

and download FindLink.zip, unzip it, add it in to Excel, and look under menu option Tools to operate it.

Cheers, Glenn.
