excel linking worksheet tabs from another file (source)

Hi,

help,

any body, i have a file in ms-excel,

i want to link a master payroll with another source in another file,

the problem i have is thet for every pay period use another tab in the same workbook (source) so when i update how can select the right tab on the source file (link?

example, the first link is fine because is link to [tab], may5-may18,

when the new comes the next pay period will use the next tab with a diffrent name ej: may19 - june 3.

how can i tell excel to update from that tab now.

Hi,

you could use the INDIRECT formula. The only drawback is that it'll only update if the source is open.

If I remember correctly there's an Addin called MOREFUNC you can download (for free I believe) that has an INDIRECT that works on closed workbooks as well.
