Hello

I have about 10,000 customers info that are currently on paper to be typed in to say Excel.
This info will be entered by a few Data Entry people.

Then, this list will be cleaned up and imported in to a mysql database.

Is Excel the best choice to do this or is there something else I should be using?

Thank you.

hi,

Do you not have a front end on your database? Certainly, you will not be maintaining your data directly in the tables, ongoing.

I suppose that Excel might be a choice for initial data entry and data cleanup.

I assume that you'll have separate fields for Last, First, Initial, Mr/Mrs, Jr/Sr/III, Company Name, proper address granularity, multiple phone numbers (ancillary table for normalization).

Skip,
