Hello There,

In my opinion a very basic function for excel, but haven't been able to find it yet.

Every time I want to change the text I've written in a cell I have to dubbelclick on that cell with the mouse before I can find my way back to the keyboard. Is there a shortkey so that I can keep my hands on the keyboard?

I know that you can edit a cell with one single click in the formula area, but that is not what I am looking for because in that case I have to pick up the mouse as well to direct te pointer to this area.

Thanks,
Mario

Hi,

Highlight the cell you want to edit (by using the arrow keys on your keypad), then press F2 and it will open up the cell for editing. If you want to go to the start of the contents of the cell, then hit the Home key. The backspace key will delete the character that precedes the cursor and the Delete key will delete the character that succeeds it. Moving about within the cell text can be achieved by using the right and left arrow keys.

Enjoy
