Hi,

What I'm trying to do is create charts in an Access Report.
My thoughts on this was to create an embedded excel chart in an Access report ... the excel chart would use a stored procedure that is located in the sql server back end. What I'm stuck on is how to actually link the stored procedure to the excel spreadsheet ...

Has anyone done this before?

Thanks

Julie

Before you go through all this hassle, is there a reason why you don't use Access graphs?

No particular! Though what I have managed to do is create a query that is created once a button is selected. I've added this to the rowsource. However, the datasheet that's attached when you create a graph has a completely different set of data than whats in the query (seems to be some default stuff)!??

Where am I going wrong?

Thanks

Julie

Is the datasheet wrong in preview or print? You should go into the design view of your report to open the datasheet view of your Row Source. Select and copy all records to the clipboard. Close the Row Source datasheet and double-click the chart control to open it in design view.

Display the datasheet of the chart control and delete the "completely different set of data". Paste the records from the clipboard into the chart datasheet.
