I am trying to import an Excel spreadsheet, a few rows of which have a column with entries in excess of 300 characters. The Import and Export wizard is only passing on the first 255 characters. When I get to the window that allows changes in mapping, all the sizes are set to 255. Changing increasing the size doesn't help; it still only loads the first 255 characters into SQL Server. Is there any way to change the number of characters that are being fed into the conversion?
