Excel IF Statement

Hi Guys,

Trying to come up with a formula that will........

I have targets

Target 1 = 15
Target 2 = 20
Target 3 = 30
Target 4 = 10
Target 5 = 25

What I want to be able to do is that when Target 1 is complete I put a yes in the cell beside it and there is a total amount complete cell at the bottom that will give the total amount of targets complete like...


Total would be 15 then 35, then 65 etc etc

based on WHAT?

Please explain WHAT on your sheet indicates when each target is complete.

Target Value Complete

1 15 Y
2 15 Y
3 15
4 15
5 40


Total 30

So when I manually enter a Y in the 3rd column the total increases in this case would be 30

try =SUMIF(C2:C6,"Y",B2:B6) for the example, then just alter the 2 ranges to suit your data (remember they need to cover the same number of rows)

If you post the formula that you tried to use and explain the ranges you have on your sheet, you will get some help.

Still lost....

All I am asking for is some help so third time lucky

Can someone point me in the direction of how sumif helps but if its too much of an issue just forget it...

This is not rocket science. It's Excel101. You have an example. You have been asked to post how you are using and explain your ranges. If you do so, you'll get some SPECIFIC help.

If you cannot do that, maybe you ought to get some help from your company help desk, read a How-To book or take a course in Elementary Excel.
