HI Guys

I have a worksheet in Excel which has a list of names in coloumn C. Each name has a hyperlink attached to it, which when clicked on will give me more information for that paticullar person.

I can insert and delete rows and the hyperlink will move accordingly with the cell number. However, when I sort the list (Coloumn C) to make it alabeticlly the hyperlink does not move so when I click on Jane Doe!!! Joe Blogs details appear and so on.

How do I sort the names which in turn move the attached hyperlink with its associated name?

Regards
Aspesim.

Hi Mint

No good!! I only have one coloumn with text in it (coloumn C) When highlighted it still doesn't keep the hyperlinks in the right cell...

In what column are the hyperlinks?

If you SELECT a column(s),
and then sort,
the ONLY data that gets sorted is the data that is SELECTED.

So if your hyperlink column is not selected along with column C (and any other column you need sorted, for that matter) your data will end up JUMBLED!

HI Skip

The first sheet only has the names listed in coloumn C (Not sure why I put them in coloumn C, I guess just to make it look better). The hyperlinks are also in Coloumn C.

If Cox, Peter is in cell C5 so is the hyperlink. when clicking on Cox, Peter's name it should go to another worksheet with Peter's full details.

As stated before if I add or delete rows the hyperlinks move with the associated name, its only when I sort the coloumn does the hyperlinks get jumbled.

Sorry about this mess.

Got it.

I set up hyperlinks to sheets in my workbook.

Then sorted them in a different order.

The link sorted with the value and gets me to the intended sheet.

I cannot replicate your problem, if I have understood you correctly.

I tried again... Failed.

I had two more attemps at this. One in a new worksheet and one in a new workbook but in both attemps when I sort the list of names the hyperlinks associated with each name remains in its original cell while the names move to its alphabetical location... Can anybody help!!!!

Aspesim.

Perhaps if you shared some details we wouldn't have to keep guessing...

Hi Guys

I like to thank you all for your replies to this Thread.

To be honest going through my worksheet again trying different variations to acheive my goal it finally cliked that I was making a schoolboy error...

I could try and explain what I was finally tring to accomplish and try to explain excatly what the error was but it would be far to complicated for me to put into words.

Kindest Regards
