Hello everyone. I need help in removing the characters out of a cell that also has numbers in it. I have this report that I want to modify but some of the cells contains numbers and letters. I want to remove the letters in one shot.

Ex.

Weight
69,972.00 lbs
5,023.00 lbs
2,042.00 lbs
23,526.00 lbs
992.00 lbs

Transform into below.

Weight

69,972.00
5,023.00
2,042.00
23,526.00
992.00

Thanks,
Joe

If all you cases follow the examples posted, i.e a space followed by the text, the following formula would work for the contents of Cell A1

=VALUE(LEFT(A1,FIND(" ",A1,1)))

You can then format the cell to dispaly the number as required.

Hello there,

You could also highlight the cells in question, select 'Data' on your top menu bar, then 'Text To Columns'.

Click on 'next' with 'delimited' selected, then check 'Spaces', then finish.

Cheers,
Andrew
