I am trying to creating a formula with two dates. For example, I have the following dates 3/11/2008 8:58 PM and
3/31/2008 5:18 PM. How to calculate the difference or MTTR with the number of hours being the best format. For example, if something was resolved in 5 hours and 45 minutes it would be 5.75 hours. Please note that the difference in the dates is 20 or so days. Make sense?

Hi,

First understand Date/Time. faq68-5827

So the Simple difference, will be in DAYS. Then just a simple conversion from DAYS to HOURS. VOLA!

Skip,

[glasses]Just traded in my old subtlety...
for a NUANCE![tongue]

Formula

=(EndDate - StartDate)*24

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.
